Marketing Director (Zoodles)

What You Will Be Doing

  • Driving all global efforts to aggressively scale and optimize user acquisition, engagement and retention across multiple platforms – mobile apps as well as PC/Mac clients
  • Championing brand equity and outreach through social media, PR, events, and networks
  • Creating, executing, and managing seasonal campaigns composed of next level acquisition and monetization programs that also delight the child and their parents
  • Tracking web analytics and mining data to gain insight into the target audience’s current behavior and preferences.
  • Synthesizing strategies through A/B testing for future conversions and extended engagement
  • Defining, executing, measuring, and optimizing SEO, SEM and email engagement programs
  • Leading user feedback and market research to understand target customer segment preferences and needs
  • Growing a broad and deep understanding of the ever-changing market as inputs to business development


For each of the above items, you will be working closely with the Product Lead, Designer, customer support and business development teams to ensure all aspects of the front end user experience create “moments of delight” for the child and their parents.   You will also periodically present to and gather feedback from senior executives.

What You Need for this Position

  • BS degree required, MBA preferred, concentration in Marketing or related field
  • A record (7+ years) of growing user communities online and managing effectively to digital marketing KPI and ROI objectives
  • Highly creative with experience in devising digital campaigns with a strong call-to-action – acquisition, loyalty, and referral
  • Significant experience using web and/or mobile analytics tools and methods to drive business results
  • Market research design and execution experience strongly preferred
  • Innate curiosity about customer behavior through both numbers and qualitative data
  • Fundamental understanding of young parents’ needs, and experience with kids’ apps and websites a major plus
  • Excellent communication skills — able to communicate with senior management and across cultures
  • Strong English skills needed– reading, writing, and speaking; Mandarin Chinese desirable but not required
  • Advanced excel skills and experience with statistical software highly desirable
  • Possess a “startup” mentality (previous startup experience a plus)

Time Required:

  • Permanent role, but we could also consider a consulting role to last at least 3 months (with an opportunity to roll into a permanent role)
  • Must be willing to be flexible in working hours—in order to have maximum overlap with team spread across two time zones
